Louis Pomerantz I have been working in the garden since I was a child. Digging holes for trees and working stones out of the ground are among my most enthusiastic memories. Working, studying, and traveling for over 50 years has allowed me to become familiar with our native landscape, its ancient history, and of all our possibilities. I am a Craftsman in the garden, crafting connection, relationships and joy. In the last 20 years I have produced more than 50 shows and sold over 200 fountains. To compliment my work I have built stairs, patios, benches and bird baths.
I spent one season working at Seasons Four Nursery during college. I also worked for landscape architect Dean Cardasis and Associates for three years before we moved to Bali. From 1990 to 2000 I had my own design-build company. From 2000 to 2015 I worked with the Paradise City Arts show managing their sculpture while maintaining my own display primarily in Northampton Mass. For 20 years I have produced on annual Fourth of July show at Butternut in Great Barrington. I have also produced shows in Philadelphia, New York, and Florida. The possibilities of light and the elements of stone and water in the garden setting have rewarded me with many happy customers. There are wide range of moods I encounter and make available for you. Each fountain comes with a custom installation and a consultation. My process draws unique strength from the unusual products of my stone collecting. Bringing together the right Stones and discovering the right relationships in space creates an unusual magic. I took the opportunity during this time of Covid-19 to work without the pressure of a schedule. In the lull I've begun creating display gardens here at my shop which allows me to produce videos for showcasing my pieces. If you are in the market, you will do well to visit this spring or summer as I have an unusually wide selection of beautiful work. When the shows begin again this fall I will post my schedule; in the meanwhile I'm available by house phone in the mornings or you can always get my attention by texting my cell phone. |
